Dingopups: Say it with pictures

Our activities today included a morning shopping along the Via Cavour and streets surrounding the Piazza Spagna resulting in the credit card being safe due to the exclusive shops found in the area. We followed this with a quick look at the apartment used in the movie Roman Holiday which was located in the Vie Margutta.

After a series of public transport stops and starts we made our way to the Terme di Diocleziano, Basilica Santa Marie degli Angeli e dei Martiri which is a church built behind the ancient walls of a roman bath and designed by Michelangelo. It contained a rare sun dial and was as always, stunning. While purchasing a guide book from the lovely women at the shop who could not speak a word of English, we are approached by an American tourist asking for assistance. The lady from America wanted to know where to attend Mass and at what time. Much to my amusement, I acted as an interpreter between the Italian shop assistant and American tourist and was eventually able to make sense of the directions. Who says the $1000 it has cost me to learn a couple of words in Italian hasn't been worth it! Eventually after an exchange of ideas we farewell the American tourist and her companion but not before she hinted that she had one spare ticket to the Pope's Sunday Mass and much to Mum's horror I reject the offer.

Facing the oncoming traffic once again we cross a busy road and wonder along the small second hand book stalls before entering the Palazzo Massimo alle Termi a museum with a wonderful collection of marble/bronze statues, mosiac floors and painted wall plaster.
