Pirates, Ghosts and the Civil War - 19 Dec

We made the right decision in coming to Savannah.  After arriving yesterday afternoon we immediately booked a Ghost Tour and spent the night chasing haunted happenings.

Exhausted from chasing the paranormal, we slept in and only got going at 10am.  All the same we still managed to visit a couple of historic homes and take a selfy in the park where the character Forrest Gump sat on his bench to tell the story of America.

Savannah, Georgia is a movie location ‘hot spot’ and to support this statement, there was filming happening at the famous Savannah fountain.

The city and its characters also featured in the novel ‘Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil’.  They talk about this book so much here in Savannah we bought it to read.  We will let you know if it is any good.

In my opinion the historic section of Savannah is beautiful and I would recommend a visit to this pretty city should anyone come to America.  I am looking forward to learning more about its history tomorrow.

Forrest Gump sat on his bench in the spot marked by a red sign in the garden bed.  Apparently the original bench is in a museum here in Savannah.
