Charter Boat! What Charter Boat?

Ronnie treated us to an overnight fishing trip to the reef on the charter boat Northern Conquest. We left at 5pm and played cards with the skipper Les and crewman Ben on the two hour trip to our first fishing spot on the reef. After a quick wetting of the lines with minimal catches we weighed anchor and headed to John Brewer Reef another hour. Here the crew served us roast pork and beef for dinner. After our meal had only just hit our stomachs we were up and fishing.

The 19 paying customers had more success at bringing in the fish at this spot with Nanniguy, Travally and Chinamen being the main catches of the night. We fished to about 1ish then packed up for our 3 hour return journey. Both Ron and I took advantage of the bunks available on board and slept all the way home. We took home 7 fish.

The following morning we filleted the beauties and bagged them for future meals.
